Not Found/Not Sound

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book,
If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that
are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book
of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and
out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Revelation 22:18-19

It is a reality that we are living in a time where people are realizing that there is a higher source; they may not know exactly what it is but they know it is something more powerful than their trust in man.

Then there are those of us who do know what it is - the Almighty Sovereign God. In this seeking and reveling in God, we have to be so careful that we stay firmly focused on what it is that we are seeking or that in which we are reveling.   No matter which category we find ourselves in, we must
realize that this comprehensive setting-things-right that is salvation is God’s business."  He wrote the story, He set the narrative, He set the scene; He was at the beginning and will be there at the end.

For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  Romans 2:10

We do this by getting to know God through His word. Do you know we cannot make it without the knowledge of God's word. The enemy himself, when he realizes that you are embarking on a new journey or that you are steadfast in your journey will try to slip you up by sending people and circumstances your way to make you doubt the way you are taking; the way according to the word of God.

These people will come in the way of friends and family and sometimes strangers under the guise of 'trying to help you along your way.' But if God didn't say it; you can't find it in his Word; don't be fooled by it. There is a saying that goes like this,

If it's not found, it's not sound

The integrity of God's word is spoken of in the following scriptures:

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.   Psalms 12:6

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
 Proverbs 30:5-6

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (Jesus Christ, Son of God)  Mark 13:31

A lot of emphasis was placed throughout the bible in the old testament for determining who was a true spokesman of God:

But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken , but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.  Deuteronomy 18:20-22

It is so imperative to know the word of God; to meditate on it day and night, get agreement with it in your spirit so that when the spirit of deception tries to enter in, you will be able to say, just as Jesus did in His temptation in the wilderness, not so, 'for it is written.'

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.  Matthew 4:10

In this day and age, if you are standing on the word of God, the enemy will try everything in his arsenal to trick you up and deceive you. But God, in his infinite wisdom, has alerted us to that which we should be savvy. Namely, we have to know those that labor among us and not allow those that we are well acquainted to easily sway us. When you see or hear things that are contrary to the word of God, we have to act to dispel the enemy quickly. Jude tells us expressly what to look for:

Their walk:

v  Crept in unawares (verse 4).
v  Walking after their own lusts (verse 6).
v  Walking after their own ungodly lusts (verse 18).

Their talk:

v   Speak evil of dignities (verses 8-10).
v  Speak evil of things they know not (verses 8-10).
v  Murmurers (verse 16).
v  Complainers (verse 16).
v  Mouths speak great swelling words (verse 16).
v  Mockers (verse 18).

Their doctrine:

v  Turn the grace of God into lasciviousness (verse 4).
v  Deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ (verse 4).
v  Have not the Spirit (verse 19).

Their conduct:

v  Ungodly (verse 4).
v  Filthy dreamers (verse 8).
v  Defile the flesh (verse 8).
v  Despise dominion (verses 8-10).
v  Corrupt what they naturally know (verses 8-10).
v  Admire people because of the benefit they receive (verse 16).
v  Separate themselves (verse 19).
v  Live sensually (verse 19).

Again, God in His infinite wisdom, always makes provision and also lets us know what to do when we see or experience the enemy in this form:

But ye, beloved,
Building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
√     And of some have compassion, making a difference:
And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.                                                                                                          Jude 1:21-23

We need not be fearful or dismayed because God assures us that through Him we have everything we need.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.   2 Peter 1:3-4

Hold fast to God, His word and be fully persuaded in your faith and your relationship with God.  No matter what comes, we will always taste victory through Him who loved us  Because of our faith, we should have every confidence that nothing—not death, life, heavenly messengers, dark spirits, the present, the future, spiritual powers, height, depth, nor any created thing—can come between us and the love of God revealed to us in Jesus.  And that's His word!
