God's Will Made Plain

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure
which he hath purposed in himself: that in the dispensation of the fulness of times
he might gather together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
 Ephesians 1:9-10

God, our heavenly Father has a plan – a will, a purpose for this world that will be fulfilled no matter what we think, no matter what we believe, whether we believe in God or not; it is sovereign and cannot be moved by mankind.    That will is established by God according to His good pleasure and revealed to us by Him through His word.

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:  that in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him Ephesians 1:9-10

Just as He has plans for this world as a whole, God also has individual wills for our lives.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.   Jeremiah 29:11

However, unlike God’s sovereign will, we have to cooperate with God in order for His individual will to be fulfilled in our life.  There are general principles and examples in God's written Word through which He communicates His will to man. There are also specific instructions in God's written Word which reveal His will in many matters. These include all the promises and commandments of the Bible. In some verses, God is so specific He actually states "This is my will for you. . . "  The bible is full of God’s will for our life.  Read below what some of the things God has revealed as His will for you:

His Plan For You:

And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:40)

And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (John 6:39)

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37)

Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. (Galatians 1:4)

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will. . .

Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself:  That in the dispensation of the fullness of times, He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in Heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him; In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will. (Ephesians l:5, 9-11)

Of His own will begat He us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of His creatures. (James 1:18)

Many believers today walk around confused about God’s will for their lives.  Simply read the word of God.  As you can see, His will for us is recorded throughout His word and we should immerse ourselves into fulfilling His recorded word until He reveals a specific plan for our lives.  Walk out God's will as revealed in His word and watch Him reveal His individual will for you.
