There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Angels are active on
earth. This is documented in the word of God, by the varied ministries and many
appearances of angels to people recorded in the Bible.
Angels minister in
many ways in both Heaven and earth. Through the written word, we can understand
the importance of angels in spiritual warfare.
Angels are instructed and prepared to intercede on our behalf. Jesus understood this while in the process of
being led away to be crucified.
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall
presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled,
that thus it must be? Matthew 26:53-54
¨ The ministry of angels on earth:
Just as the angels have a part in the spiritual realm, they also minister in the earth among you and
I.
› Ruling nations:
And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand
the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now
sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. Daniel 10:11 (read entire chapter)
› Ministering to
believers in times of testing:
Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered
unto him. Matthew 4:11
› Strengthening
Believers:
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. Luke
22:43
› Interpreting God's
will for men:
Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked
with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be. Zechariah 1:9
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth
of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. Daniel
7:16
› Guiding believers:
And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go
toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which
is desert. Acts 8:26.
› Bringing judgment on
individuals and nations:
And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave
not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. Acts 12:23
And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy
it, the Lord repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the
people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord was by the
threshing place of Araunah the Jebusite. 2 Samuel 24:16
And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven
angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the
earth. Revelation 16:1
› Bringing answers to
prayer:
Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I
had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched
me about the time of the evening oblation.
And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now
come forth to give thee skill and understanding. Daniel 9:21-22
› Announcing:
But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is
heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his
name John. Luke 1:13
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord
appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to
take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
Ghost. Matthew 1:21
› Warning:
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord
appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his

power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and
blessing. Revelation 5:11-12

said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his

› Standing ready to do
God's will:

godly who have died in Christ Jesus:

› Representing children
in a special way:
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say
unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father

› Rejoicing over those
who accept the Gospel:
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the
angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luke 15:10

include:
› Participating in the
return of Jesus:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ
shall rise first: 1 Thessalonians 4:16
› Gathering the elect:
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and
they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven
to the other. Matthew 24:31
› Warning and preaching
during the tribulation:
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the
everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every
nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour
of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the
sea, and the fountains of waters. And
there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great
city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her
fornication. And the third angel
followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his
image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, Revelation 14:6-9
› Separating the wicked
from the righteous:
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of
the world; and the reapers are the angels.
So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come
forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, Matthew 13:39 and 49
› Binding Satan:
Angels, as recorded n the word of God are real and serve a purpose with you and I. They also serve a purpose both here on earth and in the heavens above.
