* Nevertheless

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me:
nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Luke 22:42

There is always an air of excitement and electricity regarding the prophetic word that has been spoken over the lives of the saints of the most high God! In talking about coming out of obscurity into the marvelous light, I want to share with you an account from the bible of someone who was in a dark place in his life. In this account, found in Luke 8:26-40, Jesus visits a city and delivers a man that is demon possessed. This man is so grateful that he wants to stay with Jesus but Jesus tells him no, he wants him to go spread the good news of what Jesus had done for him. Right here, what we need to know is that God is not bringing us out of obscurity based on our own selfish wants and needs; He is doing it in order for His will to be completed in the earth. The light is not for our own personal satisfaction but it is to be a magnet to draw people to God; it is to show the way to Christ! The account tells us that this man

. . . published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.  Luke 8:39

He spoke the words but his life was a shining example that no one could deny that he had been delivered from his dark place.

He let the townspeople see and hear of the wonderful thing that Jesus had done for him.    He was obedient and submissive to the will of God!  This is important to note because His desire was to stay with Jesus and become a traveler with him but when Jesus said no, he left and did as he was instructed.

We know this to be true because the account further tells us that,

. . . when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.  Luke 8:40

There is no doubt in my mind that some people, just like today, came to spectate but the account lets us know some came to receive!

The woman with the issue of blood came to get her healing.  I can imagine her saying if Jesus  could cast out all those demons in him, surely He can take away this issue in me!   Jarius was there wanting his dying daughter to be delivered. And when it seemed that all hope was gone, Jesus did the impossible and brought her back to life.

My question to you is will you publish the good news of Jesus Christ not only verbally but through your lifestyle to the point that you compel people to come and witness and participate in this mighty move of God?

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the life You’ve given us, for our health and for our strength.  We thank You Lord for being in our right minds today; for having a mind to serve You.  We thank You for one more opportunity to unite in prayer and supplication before You.  We come to You, heavenly Father, with thanksgiving in our hearts knowing that it is You and only You that is able to supply our every need; to equip us to run this race, to defeat everything that comes up against us, everything that is not like You and in so doing allow us to come out victoriously.

Lord Jesus, we thank You today for knowing who You are!  We thank You for the power that You’ve invested in us through your Holy Spirit.  Lord we thank You for the desire to walk worthy of the calling that You’ve placed within us.  Lord we ask for Your continued involvement  as we strive to do your will.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 3:13-14

We thank you Heavenly Father because we know that all things are possible through You.  Lord we’re asking in the mighty name of Jesus that you remove every stumbling block, every hindrance, everything not like You as we go about Your heavenly business.  Allow us to move in love, peace and harmony; united by Your Holy Spirit within us.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  Psalms 133:1

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  Ephesians 4:3

Lord we pray for spiritual success in You.

We’re thanking You in advance for the miraculous work that is being done in your name.  Lord we pray for every pastor, every leader, every church member, every visitor, guest and friend that proclaims you as their Lord and Savior.  Lord we ask that You rid us of all pride and fear and everything else that is not of you!

Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.  Proverbs 13:10

. . . God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  James 4:6

To your glory, use us God!  Let this be the start of a powerful move in your name – Lord let our collective light shine brightly in this sin-blackened world and let it shed abroad so the lost, the unbeliever, the questioning, the faltering, the confused and everyone else that doesn’t know You for who you are recognize that it is only through you, through your infinite grace and mercy that they can achieve salvation and a hope that transcends this world!

Lord, You said in Your word that You know the thoughts that You have for us; thoughts of good and not of evil.  Help us Lord to see what You see and walk in that direction.  Help us Dear Lord to make the right choice; that is to choose You in all of our ways.  Our heart says yes Lord, we will serve You and it will not be a duty or an obligation but a lifestyle!  Lord we acknowledge before You that we just can’t do without You, we can’t win without You, we need Your power and Your strength.  We realize that it is no goodness of our own; nothing that we can say or do, but You Lord, in your sovereignty, that keeps us and allows us to accomplish Your will in our lives.

Help us Lord to receive each other even as You receive us.  Lord, You said in Your word that we would be known by our love one for another.    Create in us, oh Lord, a clean heart, a renewed spirit, a right spirit in You that we may follow peace with all men.  Let our love and our light shine so that those who are lost and those that may have given up hope, Lord, those who are struggling, those who are discouraged can realize that there is hope in You through us.  Lord we know that You are a sustainer, a keeper, a mind regulator, a comforter, a bringer of peace and somebody needs You for just that purpose.  We know that You are a supplier of our every need.  All we need do is come to you.

Lord, we ask even now that through the spiritual leaders You've given us, continue to give us clarity so that we’re not so easily deceived by false doctrine and the deception of the enemy.  Lord we ask that you send a refreshing to our spiritual leaders; that you keep them built up in you; always abounding in Your word and in Your will.  Keep them humble before you Lord.

We thank You heavenly Father because we know You as our keeper, the lover of our souls, the comforter, the King of kings and Lord of lords, You are the great ‘I AM’.   You are the one true living God and there is none like You; You said in Your word that “before Abraham was, I am”.   You are the beginning and the end, alpha and omega.   There is none beside You; You are incomparable; You are the creator and it is through You that we live, move and have our very being.  Without You, we were nothing, but through You, we are now heirs to Your holy throne . . . and for that we say thank you!   You said in Your word that we can:

. . . come boldly unto the throne of grace,  that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.  Hebrews 4:16

Help us Lord, in these last days, to stand for You, to take a position and make that position known; that You are the one true living God, the only wise God; the wonder-working God of miracles; the one that never fails, the author and finisher of our faith.  Help us Lord to be bold soldiers for You; instruments that You can use for Your will – that Your glory may be manifest.  Help us Lord to get and keep Your word in our heart; Lord, to meditate on it day and night.  It’s in Your word that we learn how to combat the enemy, that we learn how to dress for spiritual warfare so that when we become faint, we can still stand steadfast and strong in Your word.

We need You Lord in our life to purge us of everything that is not like You so that we can live the life that You have purposed for us.  We need You Lord to search our hearts and our minds and remove everything that is not like You.

Lord, help us to be strong and of good courage knowing that You will never leave us nor forsake us.

Lord, help us to keep our hope in You and know that You are our solid rock, our fortress, our refuge.  In Your word, You tell us that

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalms 91:1

– we thank You Lord for being our refuge – for giving us a secret place where we can dwell.  We thank You Lord for being our strength.

Your word says that we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us.  Help us to lean on You and not our own understanding; to acknowledge You in all of our ways.

Lord we know that time is counting down and that we are in the last and evil days where darkness covers the world and gross darkness the people.  We need a refilling every day to fulfill Your will, to fight the good fight, to do Your will no matter what comes our way.  In the name of Jesus through the power invested in us, we walk in the authority and power of the Holy Spirit; shedding love abroad, letting others see the glory of You, Lord.  You said in Your word, that signs will follow them that believe on Your name; that demons will flee, the sick will be healed.  But most of all, You said in Your word that men will know us by our love!

And now, Lord we pray that You continue to be with us, that You lead us and guide us, give us wisdom and knowledge to speak and act according to Your will.  Help us to walk upright before You, help us to present ourselves to a dying world as ambassadors, as beacons on a hill, as shining lights, and servants;  all for Your manifested glory; never forgetting that we are saved to help save and to be a blessing to others.

We ask all these things and we thank You for all things, in the precious name of Jesus, Amen

Remember, even as Jesus Christ said, nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

God bless you,

AP Candy
