God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Psalms 62:11
As always, I am thanking God for his goodness and His mercy.
And so even on today, this is another day that the Lord has made and allowed us
to participate in! How about that!
And because we know His will is good, it is perfect and it is acceptable, we are rejoicing!
Today's focus is on the immutable, infallible power of
God!
One of the pieces of armor that we are to don is the belt of truth
or as it is described in the word: having Your loins girt about with truth. The
belt is the first article of the armor that Apostle Paul mentions because it is
the first item that You are to put on. The belt, when you think about the
armor that the roman soldiers wore, was the undergarment and it helped to protect
their skin from chafing or rubbing against the breastplate not to mention that
the rest of the armor hinged on it. In like manner, we should consider
our belt of truth in the same way if we want the rest of our armor to fit
correctly. Our faith must be intact, our understanding of the word, our
Christ-like characteristics, perfect peace and so on; we have to be
encapsulated with some basic truths.
One truth that we should know is that God is unchanging and that
His will, His ways are trustworthy, flawless, unfailing,
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
As long as we are in His will, we are guaranteed the promises God has made to those who belong to Him; His elect!.
God is not a respecter of persons as Apostle Paul points out to
us:
But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good; first to the Jew and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God. Romans 2:10-11
So then since I believe in the infallible word of God, I believe there are promises of God in store for you and me!
God speaks to us and lets us know that He does not
change.
For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Malachi 3:6
He lets us know that He is not a man that He should lie:
And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent. 1 Samuel 15:29
We all know people who have reneged on their word, but it’s a
wonderful thing to know that we have a God who does not go back on His word.
If He said it, that’s it and that settles it. God’s word is already
settled in heaven.
Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalms 119:89
So today, we want to reach up to God and embrace Him in His
sovereignty:
Dear Heavenly Father, it is an honor and privilege to come before
You acknowledging Your sovereignty; giving You all the honor and recognition
for keeping us another day; for keeping us in our health and strength; having
the use of our limbs and being in our right faculties, but most of all, dear
Father, we thank You for a right mind; a mind to serve You in spirit and in
truth!
All blessings, honor and glory belong to You; it’s due You for You
are the sovereign one; the Lord of lord and King of kings.
We thank You heavenly Father because You are our keeper, the lover
of our souls, the comforter, the almighty, the great I AM. I thank You
Lord for sticking closer than a brother. I thank You Lord because You've never
failed; You picked us up out of a world filled with sin and shame.
You cleaned us up on the inside so that Your glory could be revealed on the
outside. You replaced our stony heart with a heart filled with a desire
to serve You. You gave us a peace that passes all
understanding.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
I thank You Lord because You said You’d never leave us nor forsake us. I thank You Lord because You've delivered us from our self. Thank You Lord because You are a mind regulator, You sustain our mind. You've kept us Lord, when we didn't think we could be kept, You hid us in Your secret place and protected us in the shelter of Your wings. When we thought we couldn't go on, You gave us Your word to encourage our self in, You gave us shelter in the midst of our storms, You are our strength Lord when we're weak and worn.
We come to You Heavenly Father with thanks giving in our hearts
knowing that You and only You are able to supply our every need; to equip us to
run this race, to defeat everything that comes up against us, everything that
is not like You. Lord we thank You for the provision that You've given.
Dear heavenly Father, we thank You for one more opportunity to
unite in prayer and supplication before You.
Lord we acknowledge that we
just can’t do without You, we can’t win without You, we need Your power and
Your strength. We realize that it is no goodness of our own but You Lord, in
Your sovereignty, that keeps us and allows us to accomplish Your will in our
lives. It is Your grace, mercy and good pleasure that we are here today. It is
because of You and only You Lord, that we have a promise of eternal life with
You.
You said in Your word because of Your glory and excellence, You've
given us great and precious promises; promises that enable us to share Your
divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human lusts.
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (
You said You know the plans You have for us, plans for good and
not for disaster, to give us a future and a hope.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)
In Your word, You tell us that the battle is not ours, that it belongs to You. So when we feel overwhelmed with the cares of this world, help us Lord to stand, when we’ve done all that we can possibly do, help us to stand with our faith rooted and grounded in You.
My God, You promised us rest! You said “Come to me, all You
who are weary and burdened, and I will give You rest." You said to
take Your yoke upon us and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in
heart, and we will find rest for our souls.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29)
We thank You heavenly father because You give power to the weak
and strength to the powerless. You promised new strength to those of us
who trust in You. Lord You said we will soar high on wings like eagles. That
we will run and not grow weary; that we will walk and not faint.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31)
Like Apostle Paul, I trust and believe that I can do all things in Jesus name through Christ which strengthens me.
King David said, “I was Young and now I am old, yet I have never
seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” Lord God, I thank
You because I know You as a provider. I thank You because You favored me not to
have to go without; when didn't know how I was going to make it; but because of
obedience to Your word, You supplied all of my needs. And because I know that
You are not a respecter of persons, I know that the same God who takes care of
me will supply all Your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given
to us in Christ Jesus.
Lord I thank You because
through You, we don’t have to worry and fret, be depressed or have any other
negative feeling due to the cares of this world because despite all these
things, whatever negative thing that may come our way, overwhelming victory is
ours through Christ, because You love us. We thank You Father because You loved
us so much that You gave Your son as the final sacrifice for us. We thank You
God for the holy lamb, Jesus, who You sent here to save us and wash our sins
away.
We thank You heavenly Father for Your wings of comfort and protection. You tell us in Your word to be careful for nothing; but in everything we do, by prayer and supplication and with thanksgiving, we are to let our requests be made known to You. We thank You because we know You hear our prayers and our supplications and that You will answer us. We thank You Lord, for we know that if we seek Your kingdom first and Your righteousness, that You will come down and see about us.
We thank You Lord because when we heed Your voice and Your word,
You said we will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”
We thank You Lord for Jesus leaving us with a gift—a gift of peace
of mind and heart. Jesus said, “And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot
give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
We thank You Lord, because You said if we confess our sins, You
are faithful and just to forgive. Teach us Lord to forgive
and be forgiving even as You are. Help us to walk in the fruit of
Your spirit. We know that when we walk in obedience according to
Your word that You will supply every need we have according
to Your riches in glory.
Dear God, we thank You for Your great, everlasting faithfulness
and unfailing love through Jesus Christ. We thank You for Your goodness
and for Your mercy. Lord, we want to say thank You for all
that You've done and for all that You’re going to do.
And now, Lord we pray that even as You be within us that You be
with us, that You lead us and guide us, give us wisdom and knowledge to speak
and act according to Your will; that we may be laborers in Your field; that
Your manifested glory be revealed through us dear God.
We ask all these things and we thank You for all things, in Jesus’
wonderful name we pray, amen
In closing I would like to leave this final scripture with You:
And I am convinced that nothing can ever
separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow
—not even the powers
of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the
earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us
from the love of God
that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Give God the glory today; remembering to thank Him for the joy,
peace and hope that we have in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I pray that that something was said to encourage you to go on in
Jesus name.
Be blessed,
God's humble servant,
