Disciples Have Possessions

What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels,
and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Psalm 8:4-5

Disciples possess a blessed home.  Your home should be your sanctuary.  Whatever goes on in your home is your fault because you allowed it.  Being blessed is not based on material gain.  You must maintain the same attributes and characteristics of the spirit.  Our homes should be kept clean and ready for any occasion.  A blessed home impacts the community.  Jesus taught that we are to share and bless others.

Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.  1 Chronicles 17:27

We are built for the long haul; we are built to endure.  We should be connected to Christ at all times.  When the connection is broken, a blessed home cannot be maintained.

What causes us not to have a blessed home?

®    Living contrary to the word of God.
®   Divorce:  God is not for divorce outside of the allowances that He makes.  The marriage vows are before God.  Don’t take marriage lightly.
®    Co-habitation:  (living together)  You cannot live in the same house with someone you are attracted to.  Money is not an excuse.
®    Abortion
®    Same sex marriage:  contrary to the order of God

As disciples, we must stand on what the word of God teaches and not what society presents us.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  2 Timothy 1:12

Disciples possess a balanced life.  Every child of God needs a balanced life.  We are not to be so far gone that we are unreachable.

Disciples possess a great devotional life.  Every time we wake up in the morning we honor God.

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23

Disciples possess a lifestyle of giving that helps others in need.   If you are not happy to give, don’t give.  God cannot bless doubt.

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.  2 Corinthians 9:6-7

As God leads us, we should give.  Our life should not be so much about our self that we cannot help others.

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  Matthew 6:25-28

Be honest with yourself and God and let Him know that you need help!  We cannot deal with all the evil that the world has to offer today as far as drugs and sex without the help of Jesus.

As parents, we need to snatch our children back and bring them up in the fear and reverence of God.

Do you have a blessed home?

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  2 Peter 1:2-4

We cannot water down the word of God because we find our self not applying it in our life.

We are to be content because God has given us all things that pertain unto life.  If it is due you, it is still coming.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.  Philippians 4:11

What you do does not change the goodness of God.

For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.  Malachi 3:6
